The turkey
I have been married for 5 years and I have never had to make a Thanksgiving dinner...until this year. I was excited and a little apprehensive. I mean, it sounds so complex! I called my Auntie while looking at turkeys-what do I know about them?! I ended up with a 13.80 pound turkey for 3 people( I was planning on 10)! We will have left overs for days, but at least there wasn't a lot of pressure. It was definitely an experience. My husband was laughing at me because I am a by the recipe kind of girl. If the recipe doesn't call for it, then it doesn't get added. He thought it was hilarious that Thanksgiving was the day I decided to fly by the seat of my pants and just wing it. He asked me if I knew what I was doing with the turkey and I simply replied, "nope." I just tried what made sense in my head...and it worked out just fine! :)

Hoooray for a fabulous first attempt - AND SUCCESS!!!! The turkey looks absolutely perfect! The good news about lots of turkey leftovers is that you can make tons of casseroles with them or even turkey pizza.... yum! or turkey soup, turkey pot pie, etc. In fact, I think i am going to make a Leftover Turkey cookbook for next year!!!!!!! Oh what fun to have an entire year to "go turkey"!!!!
Thanks for this picture ~ sorry I missed your Thanksgiving dinner - but I heard it was fabulous!! Love you!!
