Lesson Learned...Kind of.

I don't know about where you live, but this weekend was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S where I live! It was sunny and warm. Two things that don't happen all that often until the summer. So, imagine my disappointment when I looked out my window this morning and saw the wet ground and no sun to be found. Totally bummed. I really wanted to wear my cute sandals and not my closed toed shoes (I know, you feel for me).

The weather has been really funny today. Its cloudy and rainy one minute and the sun is out and is shining bright the next. The problem at my work is this:

When the sun is shining (despite the actual temperature outside) the a/c is on.
I freeze!

So, I thought if I opened up my window the air outside could battle the freezing a/c air and I might end up not frost bitten. There is a little problem with this solution. There isn't a screen on my window. Nope, not a thing blocking me from sticking my hands out (which I did). Also, there isn't anything to keep the outside stuff, well, outside.

Like a bird.

Yes, a bird. A bird flew into my office and my first instinct is to duck (because we have ALL seen the movie the Birds and know how THAT one ended). And then, of course me being myself, I yell "BIRD!!!" almost at the top of my lungs (while I am still in my little "duck" position). Not a whole lot wrong with that, other than the fact that I look like an idiot.

So, I have learned, kinda, that if you have a window open its probably a good idea to have a screen on it. I say kinda because after the bird flew out I still kept the window open. :)

LOL, I had a full visual of that, right down to you yelling "bird". Great story and I will remember that about open windows.

lol! too funny! I've totally had that happen before, but at my mom's house with her incredibly high ceilings. We had to wait until the bird got tired (it kept pecking at one of the high windows trying to get out) and then we threw a towel over it and took it outside. crazy birds.

Your weather sounds like you live by me...same thing here. I leave my screen door open so the kiddo and dog can go in and out...I am just waiting for the outside to come inside...ewwww!

I'm always worried about bugs...we leave a sliding door open alot; it's easier for my daughter. I'll have to rethink that now.

Oh Natalie, and this is why I love you!! See what great laughter I miss when I don't check your blog often enough?? Glad you didn't have any major mishaps with the bird... that would just give us another story (with animals) to still be telling however many years later... ya, you know what I'm talking about ;) Love you!!!!!!
